The Landesmuseum Hannover in collaboration with the Scientific Society Swakopmund – Swakopmund Museum invites you to the Opening of the “Shark Island Concentration Camp Exhibition” at the Swakopmund Museum Lecture Hall.

The exhibition was opened on 26 November 2024 and runs until the end of January 2025.

Dates: 26 November 2024 – 31 January 2025
Opening hours: Mondays to Sundays, 8h00 to 17h00
Venue: Swakopmund Museum Lecture Hall

Editor’s note:

During the wars of the OvaHerero and the Nama against German colonial rule from 1904 to 1908, the German colonial power erected concentration camps. In May 1908 the concentration camps were officially dissolved.
