Die Geschichte Namibias ist komplex und vielschichtig – auch die Herausforderungen, denen das Land gegenübersteht. So in etwa bringt es Hildegard Titus […] bei ihren Stadtführungen durch Windhoek auf den Punkt.

Die 33-Jährige ist Journalistin, Künstlerin und Aktivistin. Ihre Touren beschäftigen sich – und die Teilnehmenden – mit der namibischen Geschichte, dem Erbe des Kolonialismus, aber auch mit aktuellen Themen.

Auf ihren Touren bringt Hildegard die Teilnehmenden an Orte, die von der kolonialen Vergangenheit des Landes erzählen. Dabei spart sie kritische Themen wie den Umgang mit Denkmälern oder die Beziehungen zwischen Namibia und Deutschland nicht aus.

Ihre Führungen, die sowohl von Touristen als auch von Einheimischen besucht werden, sind mehr als eine Geschichtsstunde: Hildegard greift immer wieder aktuelle Themen wie LGBTQ-Rechte, soziale Ungleichheit oder die vergangenen Wahlen auf und stellt sie in einen gesellschaftlichen Kontext.
