National Heritage Council on the official declaration of Shark Island as a National Heritage site
“Shark Island received its status as National Heritage site on 15 February 2019 in line with the provisions of the Act.
Instead of only announcing its status in the Government Gazette the institution deemed it necessary to host a Public Announcement given the significance of this site towards Namibia’s history.
An event will be held on site in Luderitz on Wednesday, 11 March 2020, officiated by the Acting Minister of Education, Arts and Culture, Honourable Martin Andjaba.
We look forward to having you at the event.”
